London-based electronic music duo Simian Mobile Disco have announced details of their third album ‘Unpatterns’, which is due for release on 14th May through Wichita Recordings. The follow-up to 2009’s ‘Temporary Pleasure’ will be preceded by the single ‘Seraphim’ on 9th April. See below for full album tracklisting.
Simian Mobile Disco’s second album ‘Temporary Pleasure’ was recorded with Damon Albarn and featured vocal contributions from Gruff Rhys, Beth Ditto and Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor among others. Its predecessor ‘Attack Decay Sustain Release’ was released in 2007.
James Shaw and James Ford formed Simian Mobile Disco in 2005 following the split of their previous band Simian. Simian are probably remembered best for their track ‘Never Be Alone’, which went on to become the hit collaboration ‘We Are You Friends’ with Justice. Simian Mobile Disco have previously toured with the likes of Klaxons and Chemical Brothers. James Ford is also well-known as a record producer, having worked on albums by Florence and the Machine and Arctic Monkeys.
Simian Mobile Disco have also confirmed that they will be on tour later in the year. Dates are expected to be announced in the near future.
