British boyband The Wanted have told of their disbelief at their rising success across the pond – which has seen their single ‘Glad You Came’ reach #5 in the US iTunes charts and #1 in the Canadian iTunes charts.
The lads have seen their fortunes rise massively in recent times after the cast of hit US television show ‘Glee’ covered their track in one of their episodes – which is almost an milestone or achievement for musicians and artists in recent times. They’ve also received support from superstar Justin Bieber, who backed the group to make it big in the states – so their success in the US iTunes charts isn’t that much of a surprise.
Still, the group are extremely proud of the achievement, and wrote through Twitter: “WORD ON THE STREET IS WE HAVE THE #1 SONG ON ITUNES IN CANADA!!!!! AMAZING!! WE LOVE OUR #TWFANMILY We have nobody else to thank but our #TWFANMILY for this. Nothing else comes close. We're so overwhelmed with all the love we've been getting for #GLADYOUCAME. This is all insane!”
Tom Parker and bandmate Siva Kaneswaran continued the celebrations on their own accounts, writing: “Unbelievable stuff!! I won't lie.. I feel quite emotional. We have only gone and made it to #5 on the U.S iTunes!!!! Our fans are amazing.”
