Pete Doherty Announces Intimate April Live Dates

Controversy-plagued singer-songwriter Pete Doherty will play two intimate live dates next month, confirmed shows at Reading's Sub89 and Frome's Cheese & Grain.

The troubled indie-rock star recently told The Sun newspaper that he fancies a change, and wants to become a hip-hop star. Could Doherty really be the UK's answer to Eminem? To help on his endeavours, he’s enlisted Mike Skinner from The Streets.

According to The Sun, Doherty “has actually said he wants to be Britain's answer to Eminem. He has told us he's started writing hip hop songs.” The paper also claims that Doherty even bought two addidas track suits to help fit the role – though I can’t remember the last time I saw Kanye or Jay-Z rocking trackies.

With a career already filled with potholes, we're pretty sure Pete wont be making the transition to hip-hop just yet. Expect a full set of indie, punk and rock'n'roll music when he plays Reading and Frome in April.

Pete Doherty 2012 UK Live Dates are as follows:

Apr 17th – Reading, Sub 89
Apr 18th – Frome, Cheese & Grain
