Liars Announce New Album Details - Plus Live Dates

Dance-punk trio Liars have announced that they’ll be releasing a new album later this year, the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Sisterworld’, which was The Quietus’ ‘Album of the Year’ and NME’s 9th best record of 2011.

The new LP is set to hit shelves on June 4th and was recorded in an LA earlier this year. The announcement follows a series of clips which the band recently uploaded to their Tumblr, giving rise to much speculation on where this ever evolving, ever influential band were headed.

Liars will also return to Europe this summer for live dates, including a performance at Field Day on 2nd June, and a series of intimate shows, including London’s XOYO and Manchester’s Ruby Lounge. You can check out the full details of the tour below.

The new album recording saw the band working more collaboratively than on previous records, and began when Angus Andrew and Aaron Hemphill moved into an isolated cabin in the mountains to begin writing. Recorded in LA, self-produced by the band with additional production from Daniel Miller, and mixed by Tom Biller, the album is hard to shake, tough to pin down, and impossible to get out of one’s head even after an initial listen.

If you want to catch the band live this summer, where they’ll be playing a combination of their new tracks as well as an array of their older stuff, check the dates and details below.

Liars European tour dates are as follows:

Sat 2nd June – Field Day, London
Thurs 7th June – Nouveau Casino, Paris
Fri 8th June – Tivoli De Helling, Utrecht
Sat 9th June – AB Club, Brussels
Sun 10th June – Roter Salon der Volksbühne, Berlin
Tues 12th June – XOYO, London
Fri 15th June – Ruby Lounge, Manchester
