Pop group McFly will be passing gifts from one boyband to another, as they’ve been drafted in to pen tracks for star singers One Direction – who have taken the US by storm in the past couple of months.
 The group’s main songwriter, Tom Fletcher, has already written for the X-Factor act once previously on their track ‘I Want’, which features on their debut album. That debut has since catapulted One Direction to stardom in both the UK and the US, where they’ll be starring in their own television show, and now they’re ready to begin work on their next record – and it’ll feature tunes written by Fletcher himself.
Speaking to the The Daily Star, Fletcher confessed: “I can't wait to write more tunes for One Direction as I'm really proud of their success in America. I haven't been given a brief as to what kind of song they want from me; we're just waiting to see what I come up with.
“Some songwriters have never been in a band, but the One Direction guys can relate to me, as I've been through the same kind of experiences as they have. When I've been in the studio with them, the manic atmosphere was just the same as when we made our debut.”
