Bez Forced To Pull Out Of Happy Mondays Tour

The Happy Mondays have suffered a setback in their comeback plans, after it emerged that Bez’s years of hardcore touring, dancing like a madman have left him too injured to appear on their May reunion tour.

The Madchester band announced earlier in the year that the original line-up of the band would be reuniting to play together for the first time in a number of years – but now it seems that Bez had put so much into his performances of past that he won’t physically be able to put in another shift this summer and, though he’ll be there on the tour, his unique role won’t be fulfilled.

Speaking to MOJO Magazine, Bez said: “I'll be compering, do some DJing... It's me (my) whole pelvic-leg region that's given up the chase. I'm a 50-year-old man. The most I can do these days on a night out is wobble on the spot. Some things are best left to memories.”

If you’re a fan, though, don’t you worry – the original members of the band will still be there in force performing all the hits you know and love, and you’ll still even get your Bez fix as he plans to spin tracks to warm-up for the band.
