Indie rockers Hard-Fi have been announced as the entertainment for this season's FA Cup Final, and will perform a track in London's Wembley Stadium prior to kick off.
The match, which will be played by Liverpool and Chelsea, takes place on May 5th at 3.15pm, but will be preceded by a short performance by the Surrey-based band. And, with the band's memebers all firm football fans, they're all as excited as you'd imagine.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Hard-Fi frontman Richard Archer said: “We can finally say that we've played Wembley Stadium and it will be a fact. The FA Cup final means it's going to be a great day although it's a shame Brentford won't be there... I think we got knocked out back in 1967.”
He continued on to talk about the length of their performance, adding: “Normally it takes you a couple of numbers to get warmed up so it's going to be funny playing a gig in exactly three minutes and 30 seconds.”
Bassist Kai Stephens, who is a supporter of Chelsea, chipped in: “It's the first time I've been to the new Wembley Stadium so I'm hoping Chelsea will warm to the occasion.”
He'll have an interesting day with drummer Steven Kemp, who supports Liverpool. He told the site: “Ever since we found out we were playing at The FA Cup Final I've been willing Liverpool to get through. We've been a bit of a cup team this season so hopefully we can win another.”
