Dodgy's Matthew Priest has claimed that reformed Manchester rockers The Stone Roses have been rehearsing for their comeback shows without legendary drummer Reni, as the sticksman is currently too ill.
Priest is also a drummer and is a known fan of the band – even admitting that he bought a ticket to one of their comeback shows. But, he's now told The Sun that the group have been rehearsing without Reni and suggested that he may not be able to make the shows – telling the paper that he'd 'want to see them with Reni'.
“I bought tickets because The Roses were one of my favourite bands and Reni was playing,” Priest revealed. “But I've heard rumours that Reni might not be playing – he's not well apparently and they're rehearsing with another drummer. They've sold a lot of the 250,000 tickets because of Reni – I’d want to see them with Reni.”
But, a representative for the band has apparently rubbished Priest's claims, and said that 'all four members' have been rehearsing as normal.
