Badly-behaved indie-rock star Pete Doherty has revealed that he's hoping to write some tracks with former bandmate Carl Barat in the near future - sparking rumours that The Libertines may reform.
The pair have had one of the rockiest and unconventional relationships between bandmates the UK has possibly ever seen, and the band haven’t performed together since 2010 - with Doherty spending a fair amount of 2011 in prison. But now, it seems the two have got back in touch, and may even reunite the band once more if their potential Parisian songwriting sessions go to plan.
“I spoke to Carl yesterday and he's going to come out to Paris,” Dohert told Hernu and Harris Unhinged. “Then maybe we'll go back out to Thailand together and do some writing. “
Barat dismissed rumours of a reunion this time last year, writing via Facebook: “So that [Libertines reunion] 'story' in the Mirror yesterday? Complete fabrication, folks.”
