Earlier in the year Maximo Park released what could arguably be one of the albums of the year with 'The National Health' which rocketed into Number 4 in the midweeks while also garnering widespread critical acclaim.
Now, with an upcoming sold out UK tour, Maximo Park are unveiling the video to the recently released single 'The Undercurrents' shot on the Berlin tram system.
In a change of pace from the frenzied serotonin rush of their previous single 'Hips and Lips', 'The Undercurrents' is a lilting ode to love lived and lost, as Smith picks over the smouldering remains of a relationship, singing “And if you say our time was never spent I’ll point you to the places that we went” over jangling guitar work and a general air of yearning and resignation.
