Ingredients Records Team Up With Marcus Intalex For New Single

Clive Pyslence’s Ingredients Records are a label on fire at the moment, putting out some of the best tracks from the deeper side of drum and bass and owning a quality control system that ensures their entire catalogue is all killer and no filler.

Their latest releases - the brilliant ’Mise en Place’ EP that featured Villem’s remix of Foreign Concept’s ‘Jaipur’ (one of my favourite tracks of the year) and the dungeon-esque halftime beats of Ruffhouses ‘The Foot’/’By Pass’ - made their autumn a strong one, and now they’re assuring that their winter will be equally as tasty with the addition of dnb legend and Soul:R boss Marcus Intalex to their already star-studded catalogue.

His latest two tracks ‘Cabal’ and ‘Mud’ are set for a release via Ingredients on November 19th, and unsurprisingly, they fit perfectly into the Recipe book - which reaches it’s 31st page with this new single.

The A-side ‘Cabal’ - a murky, techno-influenced roller - oozes Intalex’s darker vibes, and even comes with a serious vocal sample before the drop. Though Marcus has given this beat a rude and resonating bassline, it’s the running percussion on this track which does it for me and, without the risk of sound very nerdy, the snares - as often with Intalex - really make this tune a great roller.

If ‘Cabal’ is a classic darker Intalex track, then ‘Mud’ is typical of his more melodic and synthy side. Not afraid to switch from the low-end-focused direction that drum and bass that we all love so much is oging in, Intalex showcases his ability to draw from every aspect of the genre for the 100th plus time in his career.

Together they act equally as a showcase of Intalex’s wealth of talents and as proof that Ingredients Records can’t really seem to do much wrong. You can check out a preview of the tracks below - look out for the single when it drops on November 19th.
