Lupe Fiasco Booted Off Stage After Criticising Obama In Presidential Inauguration Party Performance

Hip-hop and rap star Lupe Fiasco was removed from the stage of a party celebrating President Barack Obama’s second inauguration - after singing and rapping anti-Obama messages in a 30 minute anti-war song.
The rapper was scheduled to perform at the pro-Obama event but half way through his performance, he and his band began performing a 30 minute politically-driven track which included criticisms of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and even Obama himself.
Lyrics included: “Limbaugh is a racist/Glenn Beck is a racist/Gaza Strip was getting bombed/Obama didn’t say shit/That’s why I ain’t vote for him.”
30 minutes into the performance, Fiasco was asked to leave the stage by bouncers and bodyguards, but event organisers have since claimed that this was not because of an ‘anti-Obama rant’, but because of the ‘crowds dissatisfaction’ - though a video of the incident (which can be seen below) suggests that the opposite.
Organisers said: “Lupe Fiasco was not 'kicked off stage' for an 'anti-Obama rant'. We are staunch supporters of free speech, and free political speech. This was not about his opinions.Instead, after a bizarrely repetitive, jarring performance that left the crowd vocally dissatisfied, organisers decided to move on to the next act.”
