Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz has confessed that he and the band didn’t think anyone would care about their recent union, and that no-one would turn up to their comeback shows!
The pop-punk outfit, who found fame with their track ‘Sugar We’re Goin Down’ in 2005, announced their return at the start of the month after four years out of the game. After fans across the globe rejoiced, and tickets for their comeback gigs flew out at an incredible rate, the band are more than happy - and Wentz has expressed how surprised he is that the music world is so pleased to have them back.
Speaking to MTV News, Wentz admitted: “When we got on stage in Chicago, it was crazy. It was a rush, because we honestly didn't think people would care, and that's the truth. But it felt like we didn't miss a beat. We're having the reunion sex, so like it's so awesome that we don't have to bring in the whips yet.”
Wentz went on to talk about he and his band mates working on new music, despite Fall Out Boy not yet putting out their comeback album!
“We have other cool ideas. But we're definitely not in that part of being in a band where you're like 'Oh, well, this dude likes this song, so I guess we'll put it on the album, and we'll probably never play it and nobody will care about it'.”
Fall Out Boy perform live in London tonight, for the gig which everyone tried to get tickets for. If you missed out, keep your eyes peeled for any more Fall Out Boy announcements - we expect they may announce a proper tour in the near future.
