Woman Arrested For Assaulting Boyfriend Who Wouldn't Stop Singing Macklemore's 'Thrift Shop'

We all know at least one of those people whose non-stop singing drives everyone crazy - and if you don’t, that person is probably you. But although it’s annoying, there’s not much you can do other than ask them to stop - unless you’re 23 year-old American Samantha Malson, who choked and assaulted her boyfriend after he refused to stop singing Macklemore’s smash hit ‘Thrift Shop’!

Malson, who was arrested after the incident, reportedly pushed, shoved, and choked her partner Lars Hansen when they were drunk, as she’d asked him ‘25 times’ to stop giving her his own rendition of the chart-topping single. She’s now been charged with domestic violence, assault, and harassment.

Police - who arrived at the home on Longmont, Colorado after a domestic disturbance was reported - have put together a case file for the incident, and The Smoking Gun have managed to find an extract from it.

It reads: “Malson said that she asked Hansen '25 times' to stop singing. Malson said, 'He just annoyed me' and 'I pushed him'. Malson demonstrated this (without me asking or prompting) by shoving her fingertips into the air repeatedly. She said she pushed him a couple of times and, 'I grabbed him around the throat,' showing me her left hand in a choking type hold. Malson then said, 'I did it for intimidation'.”

You can check out the single below, and decide in your own time whether Malson was in the wrong. Let us know if you sympathise with her - we imagine it may have been more than irritating hearing this over and over again!
