As I Lay Dying Release Statement Following Lambesis Murder-For-Hire Arrest

Thursday, 09 May 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Metalcore outfit As I Lay Dying have released a statement following yesterday’s shocking news that their frontman Tim Lambesis had been arrested and charged with soliciting someone to kill his estranged wife.

The music world is currently waiting to see how the story unfolds, with Lambesis facing a potential nine years in the slammer for the crime should he be found guilty. Fans, friends, and family are all crossing their fingers in hope that the whole thing is a mistake, but police have revealed in a statement that he had actually contacted an undercover police detective whilst searching for a hitman - suggesting that everyone’s worst fears may be true.

As we wait for more information to surface, the rest of the band have released a statement via their website - and they seem to be in the same boat as everyone else. They said:

“To our fans,

As we post this, the legal process is taking its course and we have no more information than you do. There are many unanswered questions, and the situation will become clearer in the coming days and weeks. We’ll keep you informed as best we can. Our thoughts right now are with Tim, his family, and with everyone else affected by this terrible situation – and with our fans, whom we love and draw strength from. Thank you for understanding, and as always, for your support of As I Lay Dying.

- Jordan, Nick, Phil, and Josh.”

Lambesis is currently being held in the Vista Detention Facility in California ahead of his initial court appearance, where they’ll read his charges and probably set bail. They’ll then set the different court dates he’ll have to attend, while the police continue their investigation.
