Folk-rock outfit Mumford & Sons have confessed they’re feeling nervous ahead of their headline slot at Glastonbury later this summer - especially as they’ll be competing with The Rolling Stones.
The chart-toppers are billed to close the massive festival, performing the last set on the Sunday. But, the task a massive responsibility, and frontman Marcus Mumford has admitted that it’s a ‘big risk’ - something multiplied by the fact that rock and roll legends The Rolling Stones will be headlining the night before.
Marcus told Time Out:
“It's a really huge deal to headline Glastonbury; we're a young band with only two records behind us. This summer is probably the biggest risk we've ever taken.”
His bandmate Winston Marshall added:
“I've seen The Stones play for three hours and the crowd knew every song. It's what you want in a headline slot at a festival. I'm scared because it feels like a gamble. We don't know if we've earned it yet or not.”
He continued:
“Once you're out there, in front of people, I don't think there's any choice than to just give it your all. The day we struggle to enjoy what we do and just get the gig over with we'll quit.”
Although it may be one of the biggest moments in their career, they’ll also be performing a couple of massive headline gigs across the country too. If you need any Mumford & Sons tickets, check the dates and links below to find a pair through Stereoboard
