The Rolling Stones’ up and coming gigs in Hyde Park will be some of the biggest shows of their 50+ year career, and to make them even more special, they’re hoping to invite a number of female superstars to perform with them - and none other than Adele is top of their wish-list!
The rock icons sold out their Hyde Park gigs - which take place in early July - in just three minutes earlier this year, with the gigs coming just a week after their headline set at Glastonbury festival. They’ll will probably be the biggest shows Jagger and co. do for quite awhile - at least in the UK - so they’re planning on making them as unforgettable as possible, and they’re ‘quietly confident’ that they can acquire the services of megastar Adele to help them achieve it.
“The Stones would love to get Adele on with them. It would be a massive coup, even for them, because she's been a bit reclusive since her son Angelo James was born. She is the name they want to announce as their special guest - and their invite should be special enough to get her out on stage.”
The source continued:
“At the minute it's 50/50 that she'll do it, but Mick [Jagger] is quietly confident he can pull it off. They want to make the Hyde Park shows a highlight of their tour, and her appearing would make it really special.”
Apparently, the band are also looking to get the likes of Lady Gaga, Paloma Faith, and Florence Welch (who’s previously performed with the band) on stage too - though Adele is the name at the top of the list.
The source added:
“The group think female performers are a great complement for Mick ever since Florence Welch got on stage with them at London's O2 Arena last year for Gimme Shelter. Gaga, Paloma and Flo would all do well in the Hyde Park shows, but Adele is the big prize this summer.”
As you can tell, these gigs are shaping up to be some of the biggest rock and roll events the UK has seen for a while - so if you’re a fan, you can’t afford to miss out. Check the dates and links below to find any remaining tickets through Stereoboard.
