Erasure frontman Andy Bell will release a new record, 'Torsten The Bareback Saint', on July 28.
The album, Bell's fourth solo effort, is a concept piece that will be accompanied by an exclusive run of shows at Edinburgh Festival Assembly between August 5 and 16.
Discussing the project and Torsten, whose "age-defying nature condemns him to watch all his friends and lovers grow old and die before him", Bell said:
“The songs are like a set of lyrical postcards from the hotspots of memory. Torsten is a semi-immortal polysexual sensualist and I love playing him. It’s the most challenging role of my career so far.”
Meanwhile, ‘iPop’, Bell's collaboration with dance duo Shelter, was released this week.
