Throwing Muses have lined up a short UK headline tour for September, alongside special guest Tanya Donelly, including two shows at London's Islington Assembly Hall.
Originally formed in 1983, Throwing Muses were the first American act to sign to cult independent record label 4AD, pioneering 'alternative rock' long before the term even existed.
The Boston based band returned to the spotlight in October 2013 with their first new material in 10 years, the 32-track album/book combo 'Purgatory/ Paradise'. Donelly played with the band up until 1991, also subsequently working with the Breeders and Belly, and has been releasing solo material of late as part of her 'Swan Song Series'.
