Anathema Announce Autumn Tour To Road Test New Music

Friday, 05 August 2016 Written by Jon Stickler

Anathema have confirmed a run of shows in November where they plan to road test this new material live.

The British proggers, who have been busy writing their currently untitled eleventh album, the follow up to 2014’s ‘Distant Satellites’, will perform in Holmfirth, Cardiff, Brighton, Leamington Spa, Reading and Southampton between November 4 and 15.

Speaking about the shows, frontman Vincent Cavanagh says:

"There's something about the immediacy of playing something new before an audience who are hearing it for the first time. There's a sense of urgency and excitement to it. Also you know instantly whether or not something is working. Quite often in the past we have ended up changing previously recorded songs and arrangements after playing them live. We thought we'd try it the other way around for once."

Anathema are due to enter the studio sometime after the tour, the band's only run of dates for the rest of the year. Tickets are on sale 9am on August 8, priced from £18.00 plus fees.

Anathema Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows

Fri November 04 2016 - HOLMFIRTH Picturedrome
Sat November 05 2016 - CARDIFF Globe
Sun November 06 2016 - BRIGHTON Haunt
Mon November 07 2016 - LEAMINGTON SPA Assembly
Tue November 08 2016 - READING Sub 89
