Mercury Prize To Open Its Doors To The Public For The First Time

For the first time, this year the general public will be able to attend the Mercury Prize ceremony.
The event, hosted by Shaun Keavney, will take place at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, London on September 15 and feature performances from the 1975, Skepta, Laura Mvula and Bat For Lashes, among others. Tickets are on sale now, with prices starting from £35.00, plus fees. Head here for more information.

The winner will be announced at the event. For the first time fans will be able to vote to decide the first six finalists for the Mercury Prize. The remaining six finalists, including the winner, will be chosen by a judging panel, which this year will consist of Jarvis Cocker, Kate Tempest, Jamie Cullum, Ellie Rowsell from Wolf Alice and producer Naughty Boy.
