BBC Music will also cover the event as the Prize's broadcast partner.
Organisers have also teamed up with music development agency Generator for the Mercury Prize Newcastle Fringe, a week of gigs, workshops, roundtables, and an industry conference taking place across the North East between October 9 and 15. Head here for more details.
Last year, the prize was won by English Teacher for their album 'This Could Be Texas'. Past winners include Ezra Collective, Little Simz, Arlo Parks, Michael Kiwanuka, Dave, and Wolf Alice
