Petrol Girls have released a video for their new single, Restless.
The track will feature on the punk quartet’s debut album, ‘Talk of Violence’, which is set for release on November 18 via Bomber Music.
“It’s about the female orgasm from the perspective of a werewolf that likes to burn down government buildings,” vocalist Ren Aldridge said of the video. “It’s a demand for pleasure in sex and a statement that the liberation of women is central to overthrowing the white supremacist capitalist patriarchy.
“For me, it’s all about my experiences during the anti-austerity movement in London around 2010/11, which was a key part of my political development, especially in terms of thinking about how violence is defined.”
Petrol Girls will play a London date at Birthdays in December.
