Oasis To Take The Year Off After World Tour

Tuesday, 16 May 2006 Written by Stereoboard.com
ImageOasis' Noel Gallagher has revealed that the band plan to take a year off before returning to record and release their new album.

The guitarist told Russell Brand, on BBC 6 Music, that the band were planning to release an EP of new material, but that idea has now been scrapped.

Noel didn't feel the new material was strong enough for a release, and has now decided to improve the tracks, which include the Liam penned 'The Boys With The Blues', after their year long hiatus from the music industry.

Noel said: "We had a couple of tracks left over from the last record and in our own heads we thought they were good enough to be released as an EP."

"We went back and listened to the tapes and we reckon we can get it better, so we're having the year off instead."

Oasis are expected to return in 2007, and we could possibly see a new release sometime in 2008.
