Nothing But Thieves Announce Sophomore LP And May UK Tour, Share New Single Amsterdam

Wednesday, 03 May 2017 Written by Laura Johnson

Nothing But Thieves have announced their second album and a UK tour.

'Broken Machine', the follow up to their 2015 self-titled debut, is set to arrive on September 8 through RCA, while the band will hit the road later this month for shows in Cardiff, London, Norwich, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Carlisle and York between May 23 and 30. Support will come from Airways and Cortes, while tickets are on general sale at 9am on May 10.

Meanwhile, check out the first single to be shared from the new record, Amsterdam, below. Discussing it, the band said:

“It was inspired by our love of direct, guttural choruses. It's like Conor is spitting the words in your face. It's visceral and has momentum but also this beautiful moment in the middle which feels like a break in a sea storm. We didn't have all the pieces before going in to the studio and this was one of the tracks that really came alive during the recording progress. It pretty much demanded to be our first song back.”

Nothing But Thieves also have a number of festival appearances in the diary for the coming months, including Isle Of Wight, Community Festival, 2000trees, Village Green, Truck, Y Not?, Standon Calling and Kendal Calling.
