The song is the lead track from the Wakefield quartet's upcoming '6' EP, which arrives on August 11 via RCA Records. Speaking about Why and its accompanying video, vocalist Ryan Johnston said:
"Why is an incredibly honest song that takes a lot from me. It touches on how controlling and caging the mind can be, without even knowing it.
"It's always daunting making a video, wondering if it will bring the song across in the right way. I feel like it does. It represents something a lot of us go through and hopefully demonstrates the power of unconditional love."
This summer the band will appear at British Summer Time at Hyde Park, on the same bill as Justin Bieber, as well as at Standon Calling and Haldren Pop Festival in Germany. They've also confirmed headline shows this autumn.
