Placebo Add Manchester Date To Autumn Tour Due To Blackpool Empress Ballroom Closure

Placebo have added a Manchester show to their autumn tour plans after cancelling their Blackpool date due to the temporary closure of the Empress Ballroom.
The band will now play a show at the Albert Hall in Manchester on the same date, October 11, while the Empress Ballroom undergoes urgent repairs following roofing problems. Speaking about the switch, the band said:
"We are very sorry to all the fans you have bought tickets for the Blackpool show but this situation is completely out of our hands. We looked to find the closest venue to Blackpool but most are fully booked as we’re only 10 days away from the show. We recognise that the new venue and city will not work for everyone but it’s the best we can do under the circumstances and the only other option we had was to cancel the show altogether which of course we didn’t want to do."
Customers who bought a ticket for the cancelled Blackpool show will receive a full refund, including booking fees, and will be emailed an exclusive pre-sale link to purchase tickets for the Manchester show from 9am on October 4, 24 hours ahead of tickets going on general sale.
The tour also visits Edinburgh, Dundee, Doncaster, Reading, Cardiff, Portsmouth, Swindon, Plymouth, Wolverhampton and London.
