Creeper have announced a Christmas EP.
Alongside a brace of covers - the Pogues and Kirsty MacColl’s Fairytale of New York and Blue Christmas, made famous by Elvis Presley - the collection will feature a new song from the goth-punks called Same Time Next Year?.
It’s out digitally on December 8.
Ever since we were kids Fairytale of New York has always been our favourite Christmas song. Shane MacGowan and Kirsty MacColl trading insults in the lyrics and the overall sad tone of the song always appealed to us. Having both male and female vocalists, we’ve wanted to cover it for sometime but every Christmas we seemed to be on tour. This year however, we luckily had a gap we could squeeze it into.
Alongside this we had time to also put together Blue Christmas and even our own song too. The three songs form something of a miserable Christmas EP which will be released digitally on December 8.
Creeper's Theatre of Fear tour hits UK venues starting on December 3.
