Casey Line Up March Release For Sophomore LP 'Where I Go When I Am Sleeping'

Monday, 04 December 2017 Written by Laura Johnson

Casey have announced their second album.

'Where I Go When I Am Sleeping' will arrive on March 16 through Hassle Records and follow up last year's 'Love Is Not Enough'.

Discussing the inspiration for the record, vocalist Tom Weaver said:

“I was diagnosed with brittle bones when I was born, and when I was 15 I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and at 20 I was diagnosed with manic depression. I’ve also had a heart attack and a stroke and I was in this crazy car accident that crushed half my face. They’re big life events, but a lot of the stuff that’s happened to me medically was stuff that I was just living through at the time. Looking back now, though, I realise I could have died four or five times. I’m lucky to be here.”

Speaking about Fluorescents, the first track to be shared from the album, which was written following a flare up of his colitis, he continued:

“This resulted in me being hospitalised for several weeks and my medications being substantially increased. It gave me a lot of time to reflect on the state of my health, and how I’d tried so hard to make sure I was staying healthy, to little or no avail. It left me with a feeling of futility and weakness, the idea that regardless of my intentions I would be impoverished for life.”

Casey have been confirmed for this month's Kerrang! Tour, where they will join the Amity Affliction, Boston Manor and Vukovi. Stops include Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle, Dublin, Cardiff, and London, where they'll play the O2 Forum. Tickets are on sale now.

They will also play album release shows at Banquet Records in Kingston on March 16, Cardiff the following day, and Sheffield's Picturehouse on March 18.
