Boniface Shares New Song For Love

Tuesday, 17 April 2018 Written by Jon Stickler

Micah Visser, aka Boniface, has shared For Love, the b-side to his recent single Phantom Limbs.

Having shared Phantom Limbs back in February, the track followed up his 2017 debut single, I Will Not Return As A Tourist. Speaking about For Love, the Canadian musician said:

"I had no idea how biographical this song was when writing - at the time I thought I was feeling really positive about things, but sat down at a piano and wrote this song that kind of broke my heart.

"I wrote it about a year ago in London and forgot about it until we started thinking about a b-side. One night I was listening to old voice memos and this one kind of freaked me out - the intimacy and honesty in it even though I couldn’t have admitted it when writing."

Prior to his appearance at the Great Escape in Brighton, Boniface will play a headlining show at Bermondsey Social Club in London. He also joins Lo Moon for a string of dates.

Boniface Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows

Tue May 15 2018 - LONDON Bermondsey Social Club

James - Living In Extraordinary Times (Album Review)

Listening to 'Living In Extraordinary Times', the thought occurs that indie-pop stalwarts James aren’t dissimilar to a shark. Such is the Manchester octet’s devotion to exploring fresh textures, with an insatiable forward momentum, that if they stop moving it’s likely they’ll immediately shuffle off to the great gig in the sky. Fortunately, if the band’s most recent output - and especially this effort - is anything to by, they won’t be playing chess with the Grim Reaper any time soon.

Rock operas are a risky business. If you pull it off, maybe with your own ‘Tommy’ or ‘Quadrophenia’, you’re forever heralded as a genius. If you fail, and produce something as aimless as it is pointless, you’re marked for the rest of your career as something of an overblown bore. Well, the Lemon Twigs have accepted the challenge. And in true Twigs fashion, it’s completely and utterly bananas.
