As It Is Announce New Record 'The Great Depression'

Friday, 18 May 2018 Written by Huw Baines

As It Is have announced their new LP.

The Brighton band will release 'The Great Depression' on August 10 through Fearless. Head below to stream a video for its lead single, The Wounded World. Frontman Patty Walters said:

"The Wounded World is a commentary on the polarised and volatile modern reality, which we’ve allowed. The video depicts a not-so-distant dystopia, where present-day headlines and technologies are displayed in exhibits as the warning signs of an impending disaster.

“I feel that we as a society have embodied a destructive habit of talking without listening, surrounding ourselves with alternative facts and headlines, totally void of open-mindedness or empathy. Despite the labels and beliefs that all too often divide us, we are one people, and we’re all to blame.”

Martha - Love Keeps Kicking (Album Review)
Wed 10 Apr 2019
Martha’s approach to pop music falls somewhere between kitchen sink realism and wild escapism. Over the course of two LPs and a slew of excellent singles the indie-punk quartet, who hail from Pity Me, close to Durham in the northeast of England, have cemented a reputation as a melodically savvy, socially conscious band capable of telling us the truth and then helping us to forget about it.
