Clutch Return With New Single Gimme The Keys

Friday, 18 May 2018 Written by Jon Stickler

Clutch have shared a lyric video for a new song.

Gimme The Keys will feature on the Maryland rockers' upcoming 12th studio album, 'Book Of Bad Decisions', which is due out on September 7 via their own Weathermaker Music label.

Speaking about the record, frontman Neil Fallon said:

“I’ve never been one for nostalgia. I’ve always shied away from it. But after 27 years of this, I realize that there is a wealth of stories to look back upon as lyrical fodder. As the saying goes, ‘You don’t know where you’re going until you know where you’ve been.’ Not all the songs reference our collective experience as a band, but ‘Book of Bad Decisions’ seemed like an apt name for these various chapters, whether factual, fictitious, or somewhere in-between.”

Clutch - Book of Bad Decisions (Album Review)
Fri 07 Sep 2018
Despite being poster boys for gritty guitar licks, quirky lyrics and bluesy, boozy funk-rock, Clutch have never achieved the mainstream attention that their self-sustaining march over the years should merit. Even though 2015’s superb ‘Psychic Warfare’ broke them through to an extent, there remains a boatload of charm in the Maryland groovelords’ way of modestly churning out one outstanding record after another. The gloriously titled ‘Book of Bad Decisions’ doesn’t buck that trend.

Fri 26 Oct 2018
Illustration: Sam Davies There is a world of difference between Ghost today and the dark, shadowy group that emerged from an occult realm with the release of ‘Opus Eponymous’ at the turn of the decade. Once a band that disgorged Sabbathian doom metal splattered with gothic horror imagery, they have evolved into a rock spectacle that’s part pantomime, part musical and part Satanic disco.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re probably aware that Michigan’s Greta Van Fleet are one of the first young rock bands in a long time to generate a truly massive amount of hype ahead of the release of their debut full length. After two very successful EPs - 2017’s ‘Black Some Rising’ and ‘From The Fires’ - we have ‘Anthem Of The Peaceful Army’ in our hands, and it’s an interesting proposition.

Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators - Living The Dream (Album Review)
Mon 08 Oct 2018
Photo: Gene Kirkland There’s something bittersweet about this excellent third album from Slash, Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators. ‘Living The Dream’ is bursting at the seams with old school, anthemic rock ‘n’ roll of the highest calibre, but at the same time it’s hard to shake the feeling that the person behind such exhilarating music and exceptional guitar work is the very last of a dying breed.
