Christine And The Queens Shares Video For Girlfriend

Christine and the Queens has shared a video for Girlfriend.
The single, which features Dâm-Funk, is the first new offering from Héloïse Letissier, who has shortened their moniker to Chris, since 'Chaleur humaine', their debut album.
Discussing the video, Letissier said:
“The message is both simple and radical. Simple because the video relies on energy and an effective use of choreography: more physical, sensual and assertive. Radical in terms of its aesthetics: here, the gang concept blurs the lines between ballerina and thug, as was often the case in American musicals such as West Side Story.”
“The song is like a story you tell to your friends. Chris is the gang leader, the kind of person you look for and listen to; he does what he wants, perched up high somewhere, dangling above the emptiness…"

The French alt-pop singer-songwriter will appear at BBC Music's The Biggest Weekend in Swansea this Sunday and will return later in the year for UK and Ireland shows as part of an autumn European tour.
