Animal Collective and Coral Morphologic Announce Audiovisual Album 'Tangerine Reef'

Monday, 16 July 2018 Written by Huw Baines

Animal Collective have announced an audiovisual album.

‘Tangerine Reef’ finds Avey Tare, Deakin and Geologist collaborating with Coral Morphologic, the “art-science” duo Colin Foord and J.D. McKay, and it’s out on August 17 through Domino.

According to a press release, it’s intended to commemorate the 2018 International Year of the Reef. “Tangerine Reef is a visual tone poem consisting of time-lapse and slow pans across surreal aquascapes of naturally fluorescent coral and cameos by alien-like reef creatures (note: no CGI or artificial enhancement was used in this film).”

Head to Apple Music to check out a video for Hair Cutter, which was directed by Coral Morphologic and John McSwain.
