Justin Courtney Pierre has announced his return to music.

Having exited stage left when the band he co-founded, Motion City Soundtrack, split in 2016, the songwriter is back with his first solo LP, ‘In The Drink’, and details of a US tour kicking off on November 1 in Chicago.

Recorded with his former bandmate Joshua Cain, the album was written and performed solely by Pierre (aside from drums, which were handled by David Jarnstrom), and it's out on October 12 through Epitaph.

“I wanted to make a record that sounded like the kind of albums I listened to as a teenager in the early ’90s, and I think we succeeded and failed in exactly the right ways,” Pierre says.

Head below to stream director Shane Rock Nelson’s video for its lead single and title track, which is a classic blast of Motion City Soundtrack-style power-pop, following its premiere over at Billboard.
