Fucked Up have shared a new song.
Normal People drives home the competing creative ambitions of the art-punks’ new LP ‘Dose Your Dreams’ following the earlier release of the straight ahead Raise Your Voice Joyce and the chamber-pop of Two I's Closed.
A sprawling song that navigates wonky pop in the vein of guitarist Ben Cook’s Young Guv project and a thrilling, vital injection of power from vocalist Damian Abraham, Normal People is prime Fucked Up. It’s hard to pick out why it works, but it really works.
The video is a feverish blend of bizarrely comic imagery directed by guitarist Mike Haliechuk, which you can check out below and alongside a new interview with the band over at Billboard.
‘Dose Your Dreams’ is out on October 5 and is their first album for Merge Records. It features contributions from J Mascis, Miya Folic, Owen Pallett and Lido Pimienta, while Fucked Up will head to the UK and Ireland for headline shows early next year.
