Greta Van Fleet Announce Debut LP 'Anthem Of The Peaceful Army'

Thursday, 06 September 2018 Written by Jon Stickler

Greta Van Fleet have revealed a short clip announcing their debut album, 'Anthem of the Peaceful Army'.

The hotly-tipped Michigan quartet took to social media to share the mystical 45 second clip, which reveals the album's cover art and 10 tracks, accompanied by a message, 'The power of music transcends sound itself. Those of us who cannot hear it, feel it. At the dancing of a heartbeat, is a reminder that humans love. I know that first in darkness, like a great drum in a mother's chest. The anthem of a peaceful army. To save all the world." Take a look below.

The album will arrive on October 19, following up the rockers' 2017 'From the Fires' double EP, while the announcement follows the unveiling of their current single, When The Curtain Falls, which is set to be included on the full length.

The band are currently touring North America with dates in the UK set to follow in November, including two nights at the O2 Forum in London. Tickets are on sale now.

Clutch - Book of Bad Decisions (Album Review)
Fri 07 Sep 2018
Despite being poster boys for gritty guitar licks, quirky lyrics and bluesy, boozy funk-rock, Clutch have never achieved the mainstream attention that their self-sustaining march over the years should merit. Even though 2015’s superb ‘Psychic Warfare’ broke them through to an extent, there remains a boatload of charm in the Maryland groovelords’ way of modestly churning out one outstanding record after another. The gloriously titled ‘Book of Bad Decisions’ doesn’t buck that trend.
Alice in Chains - Rainier Fog (Album Review)
Thu 06 Sep 2018
Named after an ominous volcano near Seattle, while acting as a tribute to the music scene that shot them to prominence in the early 1990s, ‘Rainier Fog’ is Alice In Chains’ third record since reforming after the death of frontman Layne Staley in 2002. Erupting with flavours old and new, it’s a classy effort that demonstrates exactly what master craftsmanship looks like. So why is it difficult to shake the feeling something’s missing?
