Within Temptation Announce New Album 'Resist', Share Lead Single The Reckoning

Within Temptation have announced the release of their seventh studio album, 'Resist'.
The Dutch symphonic metal band will put out the follow-up to 2014's 'Hydra' on December 14, marking their first release via Spinefarm Records, inking a global deal with Universal Music Germany.

Vocalist Sharon Den Adel discussed the band's new vision with Metal Hammer, who broke the news, revealing that the album is influenced by modern music but given a "rebellious edge". She said:
"Sometimes it feels that today’s pop music lacks a rebellious edge. Our main goal was to collect pieces from sounds we did like then roughen the whole thing up as much as we could, allowing us to shape a new musical world that is heavier, dirtier and more futuristic than we’ve ever created before. Resist is our new take on metal; our way of giving a fresh lease of life to the rebellious edge of modern music."
The band will support the release with UK and European tour dates throughout the autumn and into winter, including stops in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and London, where they will play the O2 Academy Brixton on November 13. Tickets are on sale now.
