Protomartyr And Preoccupations To Release Split 7" Ahead Of Co-Headline North American Tour

Protomartyr and Preoccupations will release a split 7" ahead of their co-headline North American tour, which kicks off on November 23 in Toronto.
'Telemetry At Howe Bridge' will arrive on November 16 through Domino and features Preoccupations covering the Protomartyr track Pontiac ’87 and Protomartyr returning the favour with their take on Preoccupations' Forbidden, which you can hear below.
Protomartyr vocalist Joe Casey said:
"There's an old adage that goes something like, 'if you're going to cover a song by a beloved Canadian band, it's best to pick the second shortest one.' So, 'Forbidden' it is. We all really liked the outro part and had the brilliant idea to extend it. And that, my friends, is how you make musical history."
Where the original clocks in at a modest minute and half, Protomartyr stretch things out for almost four to incorportate chaotic, heavily fuzzed guitars and driving beats that pick up where the closing segment of the original left off.
