Sundara Karma have announced details of their second album.

‘Ulfilas’ Alphabet’ is expected on March 1 through Chess Club/RCA, with a UK tour set to follow in April. Tickets for those dates are on sale at 9am on November 9, while you can head below to stream their new single, One Last Night On This Earth.

The track, which was premiered as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1, is the sort of flamboyant, eccentric indie-rocker we’ve come to expect from the band, while frontman Oscar Pollock said:

“Normally I’ll have a batch of ideas and I’ll chip away at them for months until something emerges but for this song I was fortunate enough to have that moment where everything fell into place. I wanted to write a song about an extra-terrestrial who’s been sent to Earth to observe human interaction. The being’s mission is to find an emotion that their species has never felt before but it ends up finding nothing...until it falls in love the night before it has to leave and realises, ‘Ah, this is the trick, this is the game we haven’t been playing.’”

Jeff Tweedy - WARM (Album Review)
Thu 13 Dec 2018
Jeff Tweedy’s first collection of solo songs adds up to a gentile album of warm Americana that stumbles along in joyous reverie and elegant inebriation. It’s a fine turn from the Wilco frontman, whose band’s 25 year musical catalogue has sometimes fallen flat, but whose previous album—2016’s ‘Schmilco’—seemed to reinvigorate and freshen their sound. These good vibes have continued on 'Warm'.
I Feel Like We Only Just Got Here: How Hop Along Fell Into Place On 'Bark Your Head Off, Dog'

td#right {display:none !important;} Illustration: Sam Davies   The train is late. The trains are always late. Table the lost minutes. I absent-mindedly scroll Twitter in a glass shelter as the December cold gets its claws in. Before skipping over a review of the latest Jungle Book remake I’m stopped mid-feed by an autoplay video. Julia Roberts dances in a subway carriage for the New York Times. She grins, the plastic chairs smile back with yellow and orange teeth. The sound is off—my headphones are still playing Hop Along’s Not Abel. The weird thing is, that song won’t yield the floor. Instead it steps in to lead.
AFI - The Missing Man EP (Album Review)
Thu 03 Jan 2019
Fans of AFI, and perhaps rock fans in general, have always struggled with a sprawling, multifaceted idea that the writer L.P. Hartley put beautifully in his novel The Go-Between: “The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there."
