Lamb Of God Guitarist Mark Morton Announces Star-Studded Collaborative Project

Friday, 14 December 2018 Written by Laura Johnson

Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton has announced a new project.

'Anesthetic' is a collaborative album featuring vocal contributions from the late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, as well as Randy Blythe, Jacoby Shaddix, Myles Kennedy, Alissa White-Gluz, Mark Lanegan, Chuck Billy, Jake Oni, Josh Todd, Mark Morales and Naeemah Maddox.

Morton plays all guitar parts, with the rest of his supporting band's line up being filled by Stone Sour's Roy Mayorga, Megadeth's David Ellefson, Korn drummer Ray Luzier, Trivium rhythm section of Paolo Gregoletto and Alex Bent, Alice in Chains bassist Mike Inez, Clutch's Jean-Paul Gaster, Steve Gorman of the Black Crowes and Marc Paul. Morton said:

"This album wasn't a concerted effort to start something outside Lamb of God. Music is always in my head, and until I write and record it, it's stuck there. But once I record it, it's out. It's a catharsis, more for my own sanity."

Head below to check out the first single, The Truth Is Dead, featuring Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe and Arch Enemy vocalist Alissa White-Gluz. The latter starts the track with melodic vocals accompanied by suitably subtle guitar lines before Blythe barrels in and things get stepped up a gear, with the help of distortion pedals and pummelling beats.

'Anesthetic' tracklist:

1. Cross Off feat Chester Bennington
2. Sworn Apart feat Jacoby Shaddix
3. Axis feat Mark Lanegan
4. The Never feat Chuck Billy and Jake Oni
5. Save Defiance feat Myles Kennedy
6. Blur feat Mark Morales
7. Back From The Dead feat Josh Todd
8. Reveal feat Naeemah Maddox
9. Imaginary Days
10. The Truth Is Dead feat Randy Blythe and Alissa White-Gluz
