Migos And Mustard Share Pure Water Collaboration

Thursday, 17 January 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

Migos and Mustard have shared a collaborative single, Pure Water.

Premiered by Zane Lowe on Beats 1, Pure Water marks the first time Quavo, Takeoff and Offset have teamed up with the producer formerly known as DJ Mustard. It also serves as Migos and Mustard’s first major release of the year and a follow up to the latter's 2018 Dangerous World single with Travis Scott and YG.

Mustard's west coast beats provide the foundation of the track, while the Atlanta trio's signature southern rap flow covers the usual subjects of money, bling and "bad bitches". Speaking to Lowe about crafting the track with Migos in mind, Mustard said:

"At first it was just a song me and Quavo came up with, and then I was like, 'No, I gotta get the whole gang on here.' We worked our way to get everybody on there and it was… I knew what it was when I first heard it though.

This is my first time working with Offset and Takeoff. Me and Quavo got an ongoing relationship 'cause we did the song ‘ant Her a long time ago. Now with this song, it was easier. I feel like everybody grown, even myself. With me and Quavo, it was just tag teaming, getting everybody involved, but once it came together, it was like a match made in heaven type thing."

During the interview, Mustard also hinted at future collaborations with Future, 21 Savage, Meek Mill and YG, among others.

Migos, meanwhile, released 'Culture II' at the start of 2018 and have been busy with solo projects and collaborations ever since. Takeoff is the latest to put out a record under his own steam, dropping 'The Last Rocket' in November.
