Spiral Stairs, aka Scott Kannberg of Pavement and Preston School of Industry, has announced the release of his new solo LP, 'We Wanna Be Hyp-No-Tized'.

It's out on March 22 through Nine Mile Records and Coolin' By Sounds and boasts co-writing contributions from Posies bassist Matthew Harri, Tim Regan, Kelley Stoltz, and drummer Jim Lindsay, formerly of Kannberg's Preston School of Industry.

In addition to the album's brass-charged lead single, Hyp-No-Tized, the tracklist also includes four cuts orginally recorded with Broken Social Scene’s drummer Justin Peroff for Spiral Stairs' 2017 album 'Doris and the Daggers'. Kannberg said in a press release:

"To me We Wanna Be Hyp-No-Tized feels like the records I've been listening to and the records I’ve been digging and aspire to sound like. In my early-twenties I felt like I knew everything — I always knew about new bands before everyone else — but that kind of closed off a lot of bands that I didn’t give much credence to, and now I’m a bit older and it’s, like, 'Wow, how did I miss that?'"
