Ty Segall Announces New Album ‘Deforming Lobes’

Tuesday, 26 February 2019 Written by Helen Payne

Ty Segall and the Freedom Band have confirmed a new album.

‘Deforming Lobes’ is due for release on March 29 via Drag City, and follows the double LP ‘Freedom's Goblin’, which Ty Segall released with his band made up of Mikal Cronin, Ben Boye, Emmett Kelly and Charles Moothart in 2018.

The album updates tracks from his previous albums ‘Melted’, ‘Emotional Mugger’, ‘Twins’, ‘Manipulator’, ‘$ingle$ 2’ and ‘Ty Segall’, and was recorded live at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles with Steve Albini.

The new record’s first cut, Love Fuzz, is, as its name suggests, a fuzzy sequence of fervent guitar riffs, highlighting the band’s unrestrained curiosity.

Ty Segall has a handful of US dates planned over the next week.

Ty Segall Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows

Tue February 26 2019 - PHILADELPHIA Pennsylvania - Union Transfer (USA)
Thu February 28 2019 - CAMBRIDGE MA Massachusetts - Sinclair Music Hall (USA)
Fri March 01 2019 - BROOKLYN New York - Warsaw (USA)
Sat March 02 2019 - CLEVELAND Ohio - Beachland Ballroom (USA)
