Mac DeMarco has announced the long-awaited follow up to 2017's 'This Old Dog'.

'Here Comes The Cowboy' is also the debut release for his own Mac’s Record Label, which it will arrive through on May 10. The American singer-songwriter recorded the tracks at his Jizz Jazz Studios in Los Angeles at the start of the year and played all the instruments, except keyboards on certain tracks which were laid down by touring band member and friend Alec Meen. DeMarco said:

“This one is my cowboy record. Cowboy is a term of endearment to me, I use it often when referring to people in my life. Where I grew up there are many people that sincerely wear cowboy hats and do cowboy activities. These aren’t the people I’m referring to.”

Head below to check out the album's artwork, tracklist and a video for its lead single, Nobody. The track is the captivating lo-fi indie-pop we've come to expect from DeMarco, while the video sees him made up with special effects make up as a lizard man, who sings along with the song while smoking a cigar and wearing a cowboy hat — watch until the end if you're interested in DeMarco's post video shoot meal order.

'Here Comes The Cowboy' tracklist:

  1. Here Comes The Cowboy
  2. Nobody
  3. Finally Alone
  4. Little Dogs March
  5. Preoccupied
  6. Choo Choo

  8. Heart to Heart
  9. Hey Cowgirl
