Stephen Malkmus has announced his new album.

‘Groove Denied’ is the Pavement frontman’s first solo album without his backing band the Jicks since 2001, and is due on March 15 via Domino.

Come Get Me is the record’s third cut, following on from Viktor Borgia and Rushing The Acid Frat. It's a lo-fi, psychedelic song, with dirty guitars and a loose rhythm section created entirely digitally. If you listen closely, there’s even hints of a sitar.

Malkmus describes using drum machines and effects as like the way his children “used to make these girls on my iPhone - choosing hair color, dresses, etc. That intuitive swipe and grab thing. Chop and move the waves. Apple computer scroll style of thinking.”

Malkmus tours North America and Europe in May and June respectively, mixing headline shows and festival slots.
