Opeth To Headline Damnation Festival In Leeds

Tuesday, 12 March 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

Opeth will headline this year's Damnation Festival in Leeds.

The Swedish quintet, who have topped stages at major festivals across the world, are one of nine bands set to make their way to Leeds University Union for the extreme metal one-dayer on November 2. The band said:

"We are very excited to play this year's Damnation and hopefully we’ll be able to play a few new songs along with tracks from our older records. See you there!"

What? One of the fastest growing and most popular one-day festivals hosting bands from across the extreme metal spectrum.

Where? Leeds University.

When? November 2.

Who? Swedish proggers Opeth with headline, with eight more bands set to perform; Birds In Row, Lord Dying, Jo Quail, Wheel, Alunah, Dawn Ray'd, Godeater, and Imperial Triumphant (for which it will be their first trip to the UK). Further acts are to be announced in the coming months. Head below for the full line up to date. Damnation organiser Gavin McInally added:

"You could argue Opeth are too big for an event like Damnation, and you’d probably be right - they headlined Wembley Arena after all. So it’s an incredible coup, and a genuine honour, to welcome a headliner of such stature to Damnation."

Tickets? Tickets are on sale now, priced £49.00 plus fees.
