Hot Water Music Announce 'Shake Up The Shadows' EP, Release New Single Rebellion Story

Thursday, 02 May 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

Hot Water Music have shared details of a new EP.

Out on May 24, 'Shake Up The Shadows' was recorded at Black Bear Studios in Gainesville with Ryan Williams, who produced the Florida punks' 2017 LP 'Light It Up'.

The record has been introduced with new track Rebellion Story, a gravelly-voiced rallying cry against entitlement and privilege. Guitarist and vocalist, Chuck Ragan said:

"I think we're living in a really volatile and terrifying time where people are turning a blind eye to the hatred that’s happening in this world and thinking of themselves rather than the big picture. I think that sentiment is present in these new songs the way it has always kind of been there in our music."

The band will return to the UK in November to celebrate their 25th anniversary, marking the milestone with shows in Manchester and London, where they'll play two dates at the Underworld. Their plans also include dates in Cologne and Berlin. Tickets are on sale.

'Shake Up The Shadows' tracklist:

1. By Any Means
2. Shake Up The Shadows
3. Denatured
4. Rebellion Story
5. Afar and Away

Hot Water Music Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows

Sat November 16 2019 - MANCHESTER O2 Ritz
Sun November 17 2019 - LONDON Underworld
Mon November 18 2019 - LONDON Underworld

Charly Bliss - Young Enough (Album Review)
Fri 17 May 2019
Historically, second albums have been something of a stumbling block. So much so, in fact, that any real failings can usually be chalked up to a dog-eared stack of problems: truncated timeframes, outside pressure, road-weariness, the desire to try something too different too soon. Equally, brushing these problems off and declaring ‘not these guys!’ is one of the easiest, laziest critical tricks in the book.
