The National have released another single from their new album.
‘I Am Easy To Find’ is due on May 17 via 4AD, and will be accompanied by a short film of the same name, which the band have confirmed is not a video for the album, nor the record a soundtrack for the film, but more that the two exist together in the same sphere.
Following previously shared cuts You Had Your Soul With You and Light Years, Hairpin Turns is a lush landscape comprised of the Dessner brothers’ archetypal one-two punch of piano chords and guitar tones, as well as layered vocals from frontman Matt Berninger and guest Gail Ann Dorsey. Kate Stables of This Is The Kit and Mina Tindall join for gorgeous harmonies towards the end.
The song's accompanying monochromatic video, directed by Mike Mills, depicts the band performing the track in a blank empty space, interspersed with clips of choreographer Sharon Eyal's interpretive dance.
The National will support ‘I Am Easy To Find’ with an extensive world tour across the UK, US and Europe, including various festival headline slots.
