The Futureheads Return With New Song Jekyll Ahead Of UK Tour

Thursday, 02 May 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

The Futureheads are back with a new single titled Jekyll.

Packed with spikey guitar riffs, the track marks the band's first electric release in a decade and is the first song to be shared from their upcoming sixth album, which is due out this summer. It'll follow up their 2012 acoustic record, 'Rant'.

Describing the track, vocalist Barry Hyde said it's "a violent song about my childhood disgust at the grinning, jeering faces of certain fellow primary school students (even the nice ones) whenever there was a playground fight. It left a scar in my psyche that I just can’t shake. A song for the animal part of us all. With love from The Futureheads."

The band announced their return back in January and kick off their tour tomorrow in Newcastle where they'll play the Hit The North opening party. Following that, they'll call in Stoke, Cardiff, London, Brighton, Norwich and Nottingham.
